My husband had an affair with my sister
It all started when Sarah noticed Luke was acting a little different.
“My husband was unusually secretive with his phone, had a drastic change in work hours, and seemed increasingly distant and emotionally unavailable,” she explained on Reddit.

Soon, she started snooping through her husband’s phone.
There, she stumbled upon a series of messages between Luke and another woman; it was obvious they were having an affair, but that wasn’t the only shocking revelation.
It was her sister.
“I found explicit messages and photos on my husband’s phone,” Sarah said. “And I was devastated to learn that their affair has been going on for over a year.”
“The betrayal is even more painful because my sister and I were incredibly close.”
She and her sister used to share everything from “secrets” to “major life decisions” - Sarah never knew she’d also be sharing a husband with her sister.

After confronting her husband about his infidelity, he immediately owned up to his actions.
“He claimed he felt neglected and thought the affair was an escape from his dissatisfaction,” she said. “He’s been trying to explain it away by saying he didn’t know how to communicate his needs and that it was a ‘momentary lapse in judgment’.”
But Sarah wasn’t buying any of his excuses, dismissing them as “hollow” and “insincere”.
“How can I believe that this was just a lapse in judgment when he actively chose to betray me over such a long period?” she asked.
It was the same story with her sister, who immediately started apologising after the news came out. Her sister argued the affair simply got out of hand; it only happened “two or three times”, and the affair “was never serious”. In fact, the reason why Luke and Sarah’s sister began their shameful romance was “for fun”.
“She expressed regret and claimed that she never meant to hurt me,” Sarah wrote.
“Honestly, this makes me even angrier,” she fumed. “If it had been just once, I still couldn’t have forgiven them. The fact that she’s trying to downplay it as a ‘fun’ fling only adds insult to injury.”
Following the revelation, her sister “moved out of town” to give Sarah “space”, but it probably won’t make things better. “I’m struggling to even imagine having a relationship with her again,” she confessed. “Right now, I really want nothing to do with both of them.”

“Her excuses are crap”
It should come as no surprise that everyone rushed to Sarah’s side for support, encouraging her to leave her husband and leave her sister behind.
Many informed Sarah that her husband and sister’s actions were shameful and “scummy”, no matter how many times they did (or didn’t) do it.
“The way some people are so flippant about hurting other people is wild, no remorse,no compassion,” someone said.
Another asked: “Why even consider forgiving your sister? She betrayed you in the worst way possible. Her excuses are crap.”
“That's a devastating betrayal from both your husband and sister,” said a third. “You have every right to leave and cut them off.”
