Most Australians in the path of Cyclone Alfred are busy stocking up on food and barricading their homes — but there are some who are preparing for a very different emergency.

Tropical Cyclone Alfred is continuing “to move slowly towards the southeast Queensland coast”, which it’s now predicted to cross at 10am Saturday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology’s (BOM) latest tracking map.

The cyclone has seen supermarkets forced to put buying limits on bottled water in Coles and Woolworths as retailers rush to replenish stock that is being snapped up by concerned Aussies.

Meanwhile, others are taking a different approach.

Popular content creator and sex worker Blue Eyed Kayla Jade revealed she stocked up on food and water for a week, brought her furniture inside and, perhaps most importantly, charged all her adult toys for the occasion.

“I think with Australians, it’s funny, we don’t too many things seriously. It’s part of the culture,” she told news.com.au.

“Even though there is a dramatic situation going on they’re happy to see the laughter out of it, see the positives and bring something happy to chaos.”

The 30-year-old who lives on the Gold Coast revealed in one of her daily vlogs that she had charged her toys, prompting a flurry of support from 1.9 million followers.

“Meteorologist here, been watching this for a while, that storm is wild. Good thing the toys are charged. priorities. Be safe friend,” one said on TikTok.

“All the toys charged,” another social media user commented with three crying emojis.

As one added: “Blue has her emotional support toy ready too lol.”

“Don’t forget the toys! Dead,” agreed someone else.

One commented: “All the important things are taken care of.”

“At least your have your priorities straight,” shared another.

While the influencer, who has recently partnered with several popular beauty brands, said she plans to use the forced time at home to “catch up” on things and hang out with her cats, the cyclone situation has also proved scary at times.

On Thursday night a huge gust of wind shook her home and her pool has also overflowed.

“I’m hoping there’s not going to be too much flooding, but we will have to wait and see,” she told news.com.au.

She joked that there was no room inside at the moment due to the outdoor furniture taking up all the space, and that her cats were “acting crazy” as they could tell something was happening.

But, as long as there was food, water and she was keeping safe “that was the main thing”.

Kayla isn’t the only woman preparing for Tropical Cyclone Alfred in this way, with others sharing on social media that they had done the same.

One woman shared a clip of her power point, showing her sex toy charger was plugged into the socket.

“Cyclone Alfred prep — charge everything,” the woman said.

“Gotta be prepared out there folks.”

Another shared a similar clip that said; “If you know, you know.”

Many social media users also revealed they were doing the same thing ahead of the cyclone.

“I knew straight away. Number one on my list too,” one said.

Another added: “Priorities I say.”

“That’s why I have a battery one for when the powers out,” one social media user added.

One said: “Knew just by the cord colour even though there’s white cords for 100s of things.”

“Charged mine too girlies,” one said.

One social media user said: “Took Alfred for me to realise I’ve lost my charging cord in the move this week.”
