From ladies rugby, to powerlifting, a day at the theatre, or enjoying some NAIDOC celebrations, Toowoomba is bringing out the wintry goods this weekend.

1. From Campfire to Stage Light

A NAIDOC special event held after a First Nations Art and culture market at the Empire Theatre, this show will take you on a journey of self-determination and Indigenous pride through the life experience of David Bindi Hudson.

Markets start from 12pm on Sunday. Show on at 3pm. Tickets at empiretheatre.com.au

2. Auto-mania Market and Mega Car Meet

On Sunday morning all things cars and automobiles will fill up the Toowoomba Showgrounds as motor enthusiasts far wide showcase their goods.

3. Our Egg Named Larry

The Empire Theatre’s junior ensemble IMPACT will take to the stage on Saturday night at 7pm at the Empire’s Armitage Centre performing an original-piece centred around a rambunctious year 9 class that need to prove themselves responsible by caring for Larry – a fragile egg – in order to be reinvited to the school disco.

4. Bears Ladies Day

Join in for a day of rugby to support and fundraise for local charity Protea Place on Saturday from 12pm at the Toowoomba Showgrounds.

5. The Alpine Assault

Miniature wargamers will descend on Club Toowoomba for a tournament on Saturday from 8.30am to 5pm. Registration and tickets include prizes and three rounds of play.

6. The Winter Cup

Novice powerlifters will get their chance to compete this weekend at Premier Conditioning, 55 Bellevue St on Sunday from 8am.

7. Drag Bingo at The Coffee Club

Time travel back to the ‘80s as Anita Box brings in the bingo on Saturday from 6pm at the Victoria St Coffee Club.

8. Rumours International party night

Live music returns for this very special event which promises to be your chance to travel back to the heyday of Rumours partying for one night only on Saturday. The event kicks off from 7.30pm, tickets are $15 plus fees. For more details visit Rumours International’s Facebook page.

9. Antiques and Collectables Fair

Browse through history, antiques and records as stallmarkets bring out their goods to the Toowoomba Showgrounds this Saturday and Sunday from 9am each day.

10. Markets

Toowoomba hosts a whole array of markets including:

• Saturday from 7am – Farmers Market at Cobb & Co, The Plant Markets at St Lukes Church and Yarraman Markets.

• Sunday from 7am – PCYC Markets at James St, The Makers Market at the Goods Shed, and First Nations Art and Culture Markets at the Empire Theatre.
