Emergency services have rushed to North Toowoomba after a trailing locomotive on a coal train caught on fire just before midday on Thursday.
Queensland Fire Department crews worked to extinguish a fire on the Aurizon locomotive about 100m north of the Mort and North street train crossing near the Fiveways Hotel.
Trains were not disrupted along the tracks, and road traffic disruptions were minimal.
Paramedics were on scene, and there were no injuries to the train crew, a Aurizon spokesperson said.
The fire was quickly contained and extinguished, they said.
