The end of the school holidays spells the end of rehearsals for the eight cast members of IMPACT’s junior ensemble as they prepare to hit the stage.
The cast of eight 13- 14 year olds take on the roles of rambunctious Year 9 class that need to prove themselves responsible by caring for Larry - a fragile egg - in order to be re-invited to the school disco.
The original theatre piece, Our Egg named Larry is a collaboration with the students and co-written by the Empire’s youth arts lead Grace Sankey and Sheldon Mcloughlin.
One of the stars of the show, Taya Forster, described the show as “very wholesome and deep and hilarious”.
“It’s really good to be surrounded by people that like doing the same thing and you make a whole bunch of friendships,” Ms Forster said.
“I reckon they (audience) are going to think it is very funny.”
Our Egg Named Larry will be performed at the Empire Theatre from July 12-13.
