Cupid’s arrow is on target to hit the heart of Stanthorpe apple farmer David McMahon.
The fourth-generation farmer from Pozieres has been searching for love on Channel 7’s reality program Farmer Wants a Wife since the season premiered on April 10.
After a quick round of speed dating, Farmer David said goodbye to Lily, Olivia and Cassandra, leaving him with five women to take to the farm.
But Emma, Elle and Leah have since departed after discovering the spark was not there.
On Sunday night’s episode, connections were put to the ultimate test again when 10 intruders arrived and Farmer David ultimately chose Alyssa to join remaining finalists Lorelei and Emily.
“In five years, I would love to continue on this adventure of life with someone special by my side,” he said.
“For me, love is finding the ultimate teammate to do life with; someone who shares your world on a deeper level than anyone else.”

Now with just episodes to go until the finale, Farmer David has a lot of thinking to do with the betting odds in Emily’s favour, followed by Lorelei and newbie Alyssa.
Working on family farm The McMahon Bros Orchards, the property also produces pears, strawberries, blackberries, lettuce, celery, broccoli and tomatoes.
The popular show which has been running for 13 seasons and first appeared on the screens of Aussie households in 2007, has resulted in nine marriages and 21 children.
Unlike the previous seasons, the show has made the bold promise that “all five farmers will find love”.
Farmer Wants a Wife continues on Channel 7 from Sunday to Tuesday nights.
