George Pell’s archenemy to fight jail term

Cardinal Angelo Becciu – once himself a papal contender and later, nemesis of the late Cardinal George Pell – is the most senior Holy See official to be sent to prison for financial crimes.

Pope cites Pell amid Vatican corruption battle

Ex-cardinal ‘unfazed’ at Pell pursuit

A disgraced Catholic cardinal was “detached” when told of allegations that money was sent to Australia to pursue the late ­George Pell over sexual abuse claims, a Vatican tribunal heard.
