The second part of Sky News’s political special Bad Blood/New Blood was the number one show on subscription television platform Foxtel last night.

Around 130,000 people watched part two, New Blood: Morrison’s Miracle, up 7 per cent from the 122,000 viewers who tuned-in to watch part one on Tuesday night.

Part two showed Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton declaring that the removal of Malcolm Turnbull as prime minister put the Liberal Party in its best position in two decades, and saved the government from losing up to 20 seats at the federal election on May 18.

Mr Dutton, who challenged Mr Turnbull for the leadership but was defeated in a ballot by Scott Morrison last August, said his agitation to replace the former PM helped save the government.

Part two was also the number one Wednesday program on Sky News Live so far this year, and Sky News was the number two channel on Foxtel with a 3.3 per cent share, behind FOX Cricket on 5.1 per cent.

Some 125,000 people watched part two live on Sky News last night at 8pm, and another 5,000 people watched it at 11pm, according to Sky News, citing OzTam figures.

Part one, Bad Blood: Toppling Turnbull revealed that Turnbull offered to make Mr Dutton the deputy Liberal leader after narrowly surviving the first challenge to his leadership last year.

Mr Dutton also claimed the Liberals could have won the federal election if he, rather then Morrison, had been leader.
