Cold spaghetti? Mashed banana? What the Red Wiggle puts on his plate each day

5.30am Woken by my 22-month-old daughter, Asher, I drink a litre of water followed by a double espresso.

7.30am I eat Asher’s leftover peanut butter toast and a banana.

9am Drink half a litre of water and eat a piece of watermelon before starting rehearsals for The Wiggles Holiday Party Big Show.

1pm Two pieces of grilled fish, a Greek salad and a few sneaky hot chips followed by another glass of water and an espresso.

7pm Homemade chicken schnitzel with a kale and quinoa salad.

9pm Two rows of dark chocolate.

Top marks for … Getting two different salads into your day. They provide a range of plant foods and the fish and chicken add protein and other key nutrients. And one of the healthiest sweet treats is dark chocolate, which is antioxidant-rich and can help lower blood pressure.

If you keep eating like this you’ll …Be running to the loo more than necessary, potentially stressing your body eliminating excess water – a litre is a lot to take on board in one sitting. Staying hydrated is crucial for health, but it’s best to spread intake over the day, with roughly a glass or two each hour.

Why don’t you try … Drinking a glass of water on waking, then filling a litre bottle to sip during the day. Fill it again in the afternoon so that you’ve had about two litres by the end of the day.
