Toole's Family Hotel

14/20

Contemporary$$

Fancy a beer with a nude? Murals, from outback landscapes to languorous nudes, by artists including Clifton Pugh and Russell Drysdale lift the interior of this 1882 sandstone pub. The menu, by a London-trained chef, caters to both locals and outback travellers with generous country fare presented with a touch of flair. Seafood is flown in from Adelaide and signature T-bone and rump steaks are cut specially for the hotel. The Tibooburra steak burger is a popular lunchtime choice, and the meat-lovers schnitzel is moreish, as are home-made desserts like grandma used to make. Service is easy-going and cheerful.
