The Grumpy Baker
Contemporary
Despite the name, it's a relatively happy place to be. Staff are smiling, the bright, loft-like space is full and there's that undeniably addictive smell of freshly baked bread in the air. The menu is laced with Middle Eastern flair; shakshuka - baked eggs and tomatoes - and the Grumpy's plate of eggs, labna, za'atar and Israeli salad liven things up, while beans on toast, bruschetta and 10 different types of sourdough ensure there's something for everyone. A few hits and misses can be overlooked by big punches of flavour and originality, and let's not forget that freshly baked bread.
