Mecca Espresso
Cafe
Aptly named, Mecca is one of Sydney's ultimate coffee destinations, with bespoke coffee tastings at the brew bar on Saturdays, traversing new bean and brew frontiers. They use their own Dark Horse blend for a near-perfect espresso shot ($3) that's full bodied, smooth and comforting, saving the seasonal single origin, micro-lot beans sourced by owner Paul Geshos for the fragrant, floral filter brews, pour-overs and Aeropress. Weekday lunches in the clean, classroom-like, terrazzo-floored corner space see slow-roasted pork rolls and salsa verde with locally brewed boutique beer. Come worship at Mecca's new Coffee Altar every Saturday to try different brews (Aeropress, siphon) that suit each particular bean's region and roast.
