Japanese$$

It's standing room only at this teensy hole-in-the-wall location that has queues snaking out the door at meal times each day. It's the perfect place to scarf down a few sushi rolls or an eel meal deal, as well as offering a zillion different types of fresh-made sushi filled with everything from avocado to milky strips of tofu. It's worth trying the mandu soup - a comforting bowl of broth with vegetables and plump pork dumplings bobbing about - and the silky fresh sashimi, given a jolt with a side serve of soy and wasabi. An endearing feature of Kanji is the chorus of hellos and goodbyes from staff as customers enter and exit the tight space.
