Marrickville has no shortage of Vietnamese restaurants, though everyone has an opinion on which is most authentic. At Hanoi Quan, the bun cha ca is offered as its champion: head-sized bowls of lemony broth, brimming with rice noodles, tomato and chewy fish cakes. But don't ignore the rest of the menu - there are gems to be found among the standard fare and spelling mistakes. Try deep-fried pork spring rolls or a house speciality of rare beef with lemon - a crunchy, tangy, coleslaw-like salad.
