Bombay Masala, The Snack Shack
Indian
The flashing fairy lights in the tree out front aren't a sign of fancy decor and service, but the menu here rewards diners looking for something out of the ordinary. For one, there's khaman dhokla, a light, spongy confection of gram flour and yoghurt served with a tamarind sauce; a good companion to a spicy, tandoor-fired lamb seekh kebab. Chole bhature, a meal in itself, has firm boiled chickpeas in rich roasted-spice gravy to be scooped up with deep-fried puri puffs. Gajar ka halwa, carrots stewed in sweet milk, rounds off the meal well.
