Bagan
Asian$$
The influences of Burmese cuisine are easily detected when flipping through Bagan's lengthy menu, a travelogue that moves between India, China and South-East Asia. Given the ethnic eclecticism of the salads, soups, curries, rice dishes, noodles and the variety of sweetened drinks and desserts, there's something here for everyone. Standouts include a peanut and fried-garlic spiked ginger salad; Bagan chicken, a sticky-sweet dish full of heat and crunch; and a rich curry of fork-tender pork. The room is small and things can get loud, but it's incredible value for money, so bring friends, order big and make your own noise.
