Twenty & Six Espresso
Contemporary$$
Walking the line between quirky and fancy, this little number does serious breakfasts. There might be super-fresh raw salmon diced with gherkin and onion served with a poached egg and labna, or creamed Portobello mushrooms roasted with balsamic, with piles of chorizo and finished with truffle oil. While some lunch dishes (such as seared tuna) can push the budget, the basics are bang-on with chewy Zeally Bay sourdough and Proud Mary house-blend coffee. Creative touches extend beyond the hand-illustrated walls and clever crockery - even the tattooed staff are works of art.
