The Peddler

Contemporary$$

The Peddler’s slick retro-inspired decor may have hipster appeal, but it’s got more than that: gorgeous views to the Dandenongs and big, big windows. It also has good coffee, and prompt service. No wonder the place is pumping. The short menu is a mix of old favourites and spins on classics. All-day breakfasts include pancakes with lemon curd and raspberry coulis, and poached eggs with prosciutto and truffled pecorino. Brunchy dishes include nicoise salad with crisp-skin salmon, and zucchini and ricotta fritters with smoked salmon. New sweets - which are generously portioned - are introduced weekly, with combinations such as peanut butter and chocolate.
