Gibe African Restaurant
African
Gibe has a sunny vibe thanks to its timber and apple-green accented interior and bright spice-charged dishes. Ditch the cutlery for tangy injera bread and scoop up authentic Ethiopian dishes such as a kicker berbere-rich chicken stew (doro wat) or chopped buttery beef (kittifo) served raw, rare or cooked. The illustrated menu is a sight for sore eyes, and handy for first-timers. So too the bargain all-you-can-eat buffet. And third generation coffee kids would know that Ethiopian beans are the bomb; come for the traditional coffee: house-roasted and infused in a traditional ceramic jug. Book for Friday and Saturday nights.
