Spicciatevi Cafe

Contemporary

An old-school eatery opposite Rockdale train station with a covered outdoor seating area, Spicciatevi surprises with its lunch menu of fine Balkan-style chargrilled meats. Resist, if you can, the juicy veal shish kebabs in favour of pljeskavica. Also known as a ‘rock burger’, the minced meat patty comes with grilled Turkish bread, sour cream and onion, as do cevapi, stubby skinless sausages (the large serve gets you 10 snags). Lovacka pljeskavica is a half-moon pocket of seasoned minced meat filled with ham, mushroom and melty cheese. A brekkie menu covers more basic bacon and egg combos - cheap, too.
