Misky Cravings
South American$$
While the idea that Peruvian food will become 'the next big thing' has yet to be realised, tucked away in a suburban arcade is this simple diner more focused on authenticity than trends. Staff offer friendly guidance on the menu and everything's house-made. Ceviche is supple tangy fish with red onion, lemon and lime, the toasted Peruvian corn kernels a nutty accompaniment. Limo saltado, a hearty pile of beef strips, red onion and fried spud, is smoky, with soy sauce showing Peru's Chinese influence. An intriguing terrine of cold mash, tuna and mayonnaise is much better than it sounds.
