With just a giant square counter and a set of communal benches the only seating at this cafe, Ciao Down isn't the spot for a private chat or a crucial business meeting. It's great, however, for a public gossip, an all-day breakfast and a nutty cappuccino made with Aroma's Cremaroma blend. Try the Sam's special, a fried egg over sauteed spinach on sourdough, served with shaved parmesan. From your stool you can eyeball the glass cabinet where house-made muesli shares fridge space with sandwiches, cakes and fresh pasta, so have a think about what could be for dinner at the same time.
