Cappuccino Afloat
Cafe
We expected this mobile coffee cart business to be on water, but no, instead it is transported to various farmers' markets by horsefloat - hence 'afloat'. Matthew Beckwith and Alex Rigas run their fleet of three like well-oiled machines, fuelled by coffee roasted for them by Belaroma in Manly Vale. There's generally a fast moving line, a waste-no-time cashier and three or four baristas ready and waiting. A piccolo latte ($3.50) is well balanced and caramel-smooth but lacks a bit of kick, and kick is exactly what you need this early. There's no food, but really, nor should there be. You're at a farmers' market, remember.
