Bago Tavern

13.5/20

Contemporary$$

If the Timbertown logging theme park gives you a hard-earned hunger, the Bago Tavern waits with open beer gardens just over the road. This friendly pub does standards such as beer-battered fish well, while the prawn laksa with its purple cabbage and bamboo shoots goes down swimmingly with a beading, glistening, cold pint of beer or glass of white. The pavlova with macerated berries and ice-cream also goes down a treat, but the serving of whipped cream tasted suspiciously like the canned variety. Overall it's a good-vibe place with some decent food. And there's a fussball table and ping pong, too.
