Gelato Messina is resuming its local rollout, unveiling plans for a new Sydney store.

Steffan Ippolito from Oxford Agency confirmed Messina has committed to open at the former Rozelle Tram Depot.

With a 2016 opening date, Messina will join the Jared Ingersoll-fronted Butcher & Farmer and A Tavola's Eugenio Maiale, who is opening a pasta bar at the site.

It will be Messina's first shop in Sydney's inner west.
