STAFF at a popular Darwin cafe say ‘relentless’ break-ins have cost them over $20,000 in damages after being targeted by booze thieves eight times over recent months.

The Fresh Point Co. Cafe Parap was left with a $2000 damage bill after thieves used rocks to smash through glass panels and steal alcohol on Thursday night.

It comes only two weeks after the cafe was targeted by booze thieves on April 7.

Business manager Aman Jahal said this was the eighth time the cafe had been broken into since they opened up late last year.

Business manager Aman Jahal said it was frustrating to see thieves causing thousands of dollars of damage only for a few bottles of booze.

He said the total damages of all these break-ins are estimated to cost them over $20,000.

“This time they took two bags full of wine and beer,” he said.

“They smashed the same glass which was broken last time.”

Mr Jahal said it was frustrating to see thieves causing thousands of dollars of damage only for a few bottles of booze.

“We hide the alcohol from the displays at night, so I suspect it’s the same people who keep breaking in again and again,” he said.

“These are simple people who are using rocks to break in, so I don’t understand why police haven’t been able to track them down.

“They’re not superheroes or criminal masterminds like the Joker.”
