Police in a Top End town have busted three drug-drivers and a drink-driver in the space of three days.

POLICE in Katherine have busted three drug-drivers and a drink-driver in the space of three days.
In the first incident, officers pulled over a 24-year-old man after he returned a positive roadside drug test and a subsequent search turned up a quantity of methamphetamine, cannabis and an ice pipe.
He later refused an evidentiary drug analysis and was charged with failing to supply a sample, drug possession and failing to produce his licence on request.
Then on Wednesday, police arrested a 32-year-old woman who tested positive for cannabis, methamphetamine and amphetamines and was charged with a range of driving offences.

On the same day, a 46-year-old man was busted driving on Acacia Dr with cannabis and opiates in his system and a quantity of cannabis was later found in his shorts.
He was charged with drug driving, possession and failing to stay in his lane.
The fourth driver, a 55-year-old man, was pulled over on the Stuart Hwy on Thursday before returning a blood-alcohol reading of 0.143.
Detective Sergeant Ian Kennon said police would continue to conduct random drug and alcohol tests on drivers as part of a commitment to ensuring the safety of road users in the NT.
“If you are someone who chooses to drink or consume illegal drugs then you best rethink the need to drive a motor vehicle,” he said.
“Your bad decisions can cost others their lives.”
