A Darwin man who went missing in the remote Top End almost a month ago has been found safe and well by police.
David Gregory Mundy, 43, who was reported missing by his family on Friday, June 11, was last seen at the Woolworths store in Katherine that same day after driving up from Darwin in his own vehicle.
At the time Special Reference Unit Detective Sergeant Wayne Newell said Mr Mundy was most likely travelling south and could have gone camping in the Katherine and Elliott area, and urged the public to contact them with any information regarding his whereabouts, saying police held concerns for his welfare.

This afternoon, NT Police issued a statement saying that Mr Mundy had been found safe and well in Katherine.
They declined to provide any further details at this stage, citing Mr Mundy’s family’s desire for privacy.
“The family has requested privacy at this time and police will be making no further comment,” the statement read.
The NT News understands Mr Mundy was found yesterday, Wednesday, July 7.
Mr Mundy has lived in Darwin for years and is a coach with the Northern Districts Eagles Netball Club.
When he went missing, Det Sgt Newell said it was uncharacteristic for him to go so long without contacting his family, who were “very worried” about him.
