Mongols nightclub assault twist as Northern Territory Police make charge decision

New details have emerged in the case of a reported Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang assault at a popular Darwin nightclub. Here’s what the police have decided.

Police have dropped an investigation into an alleged bikies bashing at a popular Darwin nightclub.

NT Police confirmed on Tuesday no charges had been made against members of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang over an alleged assault in Monsoons Nightclub, on Mitchell St.

“In the end there were no charges because there was no complaint laid,” a police spokesman said.

Police had alleged there were two victims, but neither made a complaint.

Three days ago, investigators appealed for information in relation to the alleged nightclub assault.

Police had alleged Mongols assaulted two men at the Monsoons at some point after 3am, Saturday October 15.

No details were provided about the alleged victims injuries, or if anyone had been taken in for questioning.

The incident took place on the weekend of the notorious gang’s annual national run.

More than 150 Mongols members were estimated to have taken part in the 1500km drive from Alice Springs to Darwin.

A heavy interstate police presence monitored the gang’s movements up the Territory as part of Operation Lune.

A police spokesman confirmed three people were issued Notices to Appear for drug-related matters including drug driving and possession.

However, he was unable to confirm the alleged bikies’ ages, genders or their upcoming court dates.
