There were wild scenes in Katherine early Sunday morning after police received a triple-0 call from a terrified women who was woken by a male intruder in her bedroom.
Northern Territory police are calling for information in relation to the aggravated burglary at the Katherine residence.
Police say soon after midnight Saturday they received a call from a female resident who had been woken up in her room by a male intruder.
It is alleged three unknown male offenders entered the residence and one went upstairs and entered the bedroom.
The female resident called triple-0 and the group fled stealing a quantity of alcohol and her vehicle before police arrival.
Police CCTV operators located the vehicle in the Katherine CBD and nearby members initiated a pursuit which has to be terminated a short time later due to safety reasons.
Police said at one point the stolen motor vehicle allegedly drove on the opposite side of the road toward a stationary police vehicle.
They say it swerved last minute, narrowly missing collision.
The vehicle came to a stop on Riverbank Drive and all three alleged offenders fled the scene on foot.
The Crime Command have carriage of the investigation.
