ATTITUDE has played a large role in Waratahs’ uptick in results in the 2021 Darwin Netball Premier League, and the side will be looking for more of the same when it takes on Pints in Round 11.
Waratahs beat an always -improving Hoggies 39-31 in Round 10 and now have another challenge in Pints, who they already have a win and a draw against this season.

Midway through the season Waratahs have soared to a clear second place on the table, a far cry from where they found themselves at the same stage in 2020.
And it was having the right attitude week in week out that co-coach Shannon Byrne credited for a large part of their recent success.
“It was a good game, we started a bit slow which is something we will look to improve on,” Byrne said.
“Full credit to Hoggies. They’ve improved a lot since the start of the season and made it a real battle for us.
“For us it’s just good to see that our team never gives up. They don’t panic and pride themselves on bringing the right attitude each week.
“We’re literally only halfway through the season but the girls are excited and happy with what we’ve achieved without getting ahead of themselves.”
Waratahs have plenty of depths in their ranks with different players from captain Sarrita King to player-coach Alyce Casilli stepping up for their side each week.
The squad will be hoping for the return of key defender Peta Stephens from injury against Pints.
For Pints’ part, they also have plenty of firepower with Liz Paice and Barbara Illett consistent standouts for the reigning premiers.
“We really enjoy playing Pints with a lot of us going back a long way,” Byrne said.
“We have a lot of respect for them and they have a good pressure game with both sides knowing that they have to start strong. We’re pretty lucky as someone new steps up each week and we have the upmost faith in whichever side we put out.”
Meanwhile, Nightcliff Tigers and Banks Bulldogs will look to boost their position against each other, while top side Tracy Village Falcons will look to continue winning form against Hoggies.
