A focus on junior pathways into the senior ranks paid off for the Pints Netball Club in 2023, with their sides winning titles across the divisions.
Pints titles included the top three senior divisions as well as the under-15s division 1, while they also made appearances in three of the four junior grand finals and the senior men.
The results were a testament to a club which invested heavily in its junior and senior programs leading into the season ensuring they had the right players in the right places.
Club president and Pints player Rachelle Tinning said it was rewarding to have all the hard work and effort pay off once finals came around.
“We worked really hard in the pre-season so we picked our teams to have the right balance of players in each division,” she said.
“To have worked so hard all season is a testament to the players and coaches, and to have so many teams in the finals is just quite rewarding to know all the effort has paid off.
“We’re really passionate about the junior to senior pathway and making sure that’s really strong.
“We start that young and once they’re in the under-15s, under-17s age we start filtering them into our seniors
“We get them into those top three teams so they’re surrounded by strong senior players and getting to the top level while being supported in getting there.”
The premier league side were particular standouts dropping just two matches all season and breezing their way to the minor premiership.
And they continued their dominance in the grand final against Tracy Village Falcons, ultimately winning 49-35.
NTFL star Jasmyn Hewett was among the standouts in the side, while Amelia Chow and Sophie Chow also made a massive impact on the season.
“Our premier league coaches made it clear very early on our goal was to get the top two teams, and ideally the top three teams, into the grand final,” Tinning said.
“That’s been the focus all year and it was made very clear to the squad what the expectation was in terms of commitment and getting around each other.
“And every week we just turned up and everyone backed up for each other and that stayed strong all season so we came away winners of the top three divisions.
“We have a lot of people who have come through the club as players who stick around and invest in the type of club and culture we’re building.”
Meanwhile, Darwin Netball stalwart and Tracy Village coach Sharon Freeman was recognised for her contributions over the past couple of decades being named a Darwin Netball life member.

It was also a big week for MASH, who won the 13 and under division 1 title 27-25, and Waratahs who came away with wins in the under 11s and under 13s division 2 competitions.
Northern Districts Eagles gave brave showings in the under-15s division 1 and under-17s division 2 closing out as runners ups, losing to the Nightcliff Tigers in the latter competition.
