PINTS’ shooters stepped up under the posts to see off a fighting Hoggies 47-38 in Round 8 of the 2021 Darwin Netball Premier League.
Hoggies may have been first to find the net but it was Pints who built momentum, first to set up a lead, tearing away after halftime.
Aaliyah Bailey was a standout on offence, hitting her targets and moving around the court with plenty of precision.
The reigning premiers also impressed defensively, with Barbara Ilett moving to goalkeeper and Jasmyn Hewett adding height in that third of the court.

But that defence was at times tested by a keen Hoggies attack involving Olivia Hatzismalis and Richelle Smith that found momentum at times.
Pints weathered those spurts, matching them with scoring runs of their own with Liz Paice at centre dictating the pace for much of the game.
It was the side’s ability to build on its score and use the ball around the court that was most pleasing for coach Kathy Kellam.
“We were pleased with how we played as we thought we would be able to get a few goals on them,” Kellam told the NT News.
“It was particularly pleasing that we built on our score and though we had some patches that weren’t good we had plenty of time where we played well.
“Our attack end moved better. Sometimes we get a bit stuck but they moved much better here though our defence probably wasn’t as tight as it has been previously.
“We have some hard games ahead but we’re back at full training and though we still have a few players out we have a fairly versatile team.”
Tracy Village Falcons bounced back from their first loss of the season in style, beating Nightcliff Tigers 51-24.
And Waratahs secured their spot in second, winning 47-31 over a keen Banks side.
