2025 Dolphins Cup live stream: Rockhampton Grammar v Shalom College, Round 5

Rockhampton Grammar played with the exact intent that was required on Tuesday, with some individual brilliance from Lisi Faaoso leading them to victory. Watch the REPLAYS here.

A piece of individual brilliance from halfback Lisi Faaoso put the exclamation mark on Rockhampton Grammar’s decisive Dolphins Cup victory.

The brilliant playmaker raced through to grab his own perfectly weighted bomb, going on to slam down the second of his tries under the posts in the 28-10 win.

The Grammar coaching staff had called on their troops to show plenty of intent in the contest – and they answered in spades.

Their bruising defence provided a launching pad for their scintillating attack, led by inspirational skipper Leo Fanuatanu who showcased his strength and speed on the right edge.

Fullback Mason Broadhurst and centre Cormack Werner also combined well on the left edge to cause Shalom’s defence line plenty of headaches.

With a try apiece at the 10-minute mark, it was Grammar who grabbed the ascendancy with two more four-pointers to lead 18-6 at half-time.

Two tries in two minutes in the second half extended their lead to 28-6 before Shalom hit back with two of their own, one of them a result of some great hands from winger Tom Elphinstone over the tryline.

Grammar worked hard to contain Shalom’s big bodies, getting numbers in attack to limit their impact.

Shalom’s props – skipper Riley Morcom and Joshua Richards – were valiant in defeat as they powered through a mountain of work.

Rockhampton Grammar v Shalom College (2025 NRL Schoolgirls Cup)

Rockhampton Grammar locked up second place in Pool C of the NRL Schoolgirls Cup but they had to do it the hard way against a determined Shalom College.

They got home 16-6 in the last game of the regular season, running in three tries to one in a grinding contest.

The first half was a real arm wrestle, with points hard to come by as both teams worked hard to keep their trylines intact.

It was Grammar’s classy lock Alice Kallquist who broke the deadlock 23 minutes in to put her team up 6-nil at half-time.

Both teams were guilty of some poor ball handling early in the second but it was Shalom who was starting to get the upper hand with some good field position.

They were rewarded when Sarah Althouse darted over from dummy half to even it up at 6-all.

Those points jolted Grammar’s attack into action, with fullback Emmalena Ingui gaining plenty of metres and hooker Evan Sullivan regularly breaking the line.

Prop Offiliah Chippendale was rewarded with Grammar’s next points, producing a barging run from 10m out to take the score to 12-6.

Utility Zafeera Gibson crossed out wide to extend the lead to 16-6.

Shalom made the trip with just 14 players but their determination never waned.

A late intercept and blistering run through the middle by halfback Courtney Driver sparked some late hope but when she was run down so were Shalom’s hopes of a last-gasp revival.

Fullback Charlie Gear put in another exciting performance for Shalom, while forwards Manjeya Ramirez and Chelsea Wardlaw provided plenty of go-forward with their strong ball-running.

Rockhampton Grammar v Shalom College (2025 Dolphins Challenge)

Shalom College has held firm to deny Rockhampton Grammar a second come-from-behind victory in as many weeks in the Dolphins Challenge.

The Bundaberg boys were off to a flying start, two tries putting them ahead 12-nil midway through the opening stanza.

But Grammar showed their mettle to hit back with two of their own, the second of them with just 10 seconds on the clock, to level things up at the break.

The visitors were quick to shut down the home team’s momentum with a quick-fire double in the second half.

Grammar clawed one back to narrow the gap to 24-18 but Shalom rounded out a well-deserved victory with their fifth try to seal a 30-18 win.

PREVIEW

Completions will be key for Rockhampton Grammar when they tackle Shalom College in a vital Dolphins Cup clash on Tuesday.

With the teams locked on four points apiece, this showdown will determine who finishes third and fourth and who each will face in the playoffs.

You can watch the game, as well as the same schools battling it out in the Dolphins Challenge and NRL Schoolgirls Cup, live and exclusive of Kommunity TV.

Shalom comes into the contest fresh off a bye, Grammar off a heavy 40-12 loss to The Cathedral College last week.

While they will welcome back a number of troops who missed last week, Grammar co-coach Nathan Doyle said his team would need to be a lot better against a Shalom outfit which boasts size and speed.

“Completions will be a big one for us,” he said.

“We completed at 47 per cent the other day; you’re not going to win an under-6 game with that.

“It’s all between the ears for them now. They’re fit enough, they know what they need to do, it’s just about them turning up ready for the battle.

“Shalom are a different beast down in Bundaberg than when they’re travelling so hopefully we can snatch the win on our home ground.”

Doyle said skilful centre Leo Fanuatanu was one of Grammar’s most influential with his explosive ball-running and bone-jarring defence.

He also expects big games from hooker Jonty Coutts, who “throws himself at everything that moves”, and Year 11 enforcer Jake Gillard in the front row.

Shalom would look to prop Riley Morcom, lock Luke Giles and dynamic centres pairing of Parkka Perrotta-Dowling and Kyan Edwards to carry on their impressive form.

Doyle said Grammar would need to bring plenty of intent in their tackles.

“They’ve got some big boys so it’s about cutting down their time and space,” he said.

“We need to be getting off the line as quickly as we can to reduce their opportunities to really wind up and come at us.”

Grammar and Shalom’s finals opponents will only be decided on Tuesday, with reigning champs St Brendan’s and TCC battling it out for the minor premiership in the other Round 5 fixture.

Doyle said either side would be a tough prospect.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re third or fourth, you’re still going to be up against a pretty strong side in either St Brendan’s or TCC,” he said.
