Matt Zukowski hasn’t held back, throwing subtle jabs at ex-wife Tammy Hembrow online just hours after she broke down in tears confirming their split.
The former Love Island Australia star has come under fire for liking and responding to Instagram comments, with one suggesting he was “free” now that the marriage was over — and another questioning why he would walk away from a “dream girl”.
In one since deleted post, a user commented: “Actually don’t understand how this man could or would want to stuff it up. Tammy is a dream girl.”
“You don’t know her …,” Zukowski responded.
It comes after fitness influencer Hembrow confirmed the marriage breakdown in an emotional TikTok post on Sunday, telling followers:
“This is giving me so much anxiety. I wanted to finally tell you guys that I am going to be getting a divorce.
“I know a lot of you have been following my journey for years so I wanted to be open about it … for me, addressing it for you guys is sort of therapeutic.”
While Hembrow declined to go into specific details “out of respect for everyone involved,” she admitted the situation had left her devastated.
“Did I think this was gonna happen, no. Did I want this, no,” she said.
Speculation about trouble in paradise began in March, when one fan claimed to have seen Hembrow crying in a public bathroom, and another said they overheard Zukowski “talking crap” about his wife at a South Melbourne gym.
The couple were also spotted unfollowing and re-following each other on Instagram in the weeks that followed.
The split came less than 24 hours after Zukowski was spotted at an event with News Corp sports journalist Tayla Little, which sparked speculation of a new romance.
But Little has since shut down the rumours, telling Confidential there is “no truth to the rumours being circulated.”
“I attended a work event alongside a wide group of media and content creators and that was the first time I had met this group,” she said.
The pair were spotted at London Tavern in Richmond, Victoria on Saturday night, surrounded by a group of people. A pubgoer posted a snap to Facebook, claiming there was “no ring in sight”.
Little also posted a video from the LA Rams NFL event at Marvel Stadium showing the pair on an inflatable, captioning: “@mattzukowski won’t play with me” — which sparked further speculation from followers.
Zukowski also confirmed the split with a sombre Instagram story on Sunday.
“It’s with a heavy heart I share that Tammy and I have decided to separate,” he wrote.
“Both of us have struggled with making this decision however we need to do what is right for ourselves and her three children.
This wasn’t a decision we took lightly. Our time together will always be cherished and never forgotten.”
He finished the post by thanking fans and asking for privacy.
“Despite our short-lived marriage, we appreciate everyone’s support and space at this time as we navigate the split.”
