Huge success of NT tourism voucher scheme shows it was the right move
IN March the NT News started its campaign for the Northern Territory government to introduce a voucher scheme to provide a stimulus for our tourism and hospitality industry. The proof we were right was in the pudding when the scheme finally went public on Wednesday – with all 26,000 vouchers disappearing within hours.

By the way, take a bow Darwin Council because you didn’t have to be dragged kicking and screaming to the table with your stimulus support. And you have generously extended it for another two weeks.
For the NT government’s part, the local tourism voucher success must surely serve as proof that we are right in calling for you to now offer incentives for interstate travellers to want to come to the Territory.
