UPDATE: FIVE youths have been arrested in Katherine after they allegedly stole a white Hyundai Accent Hatchback and went on a rampage.
Police in Katherine spotted the car along the Stuart Hwy and used a tyre deflation device to stop it.
The offenders were boys, three aged 13-years-old, one 14 and the other 15. They were taken to the Katherine Watch House.
It is understood three of the offenders will likely be released for youth diversion, and the other two charged.
EARLIER: A GROUP of youths are alleged to have gone on a destructive rampage around Darwin and Palmerston after stealing a car.
Northern Watch Commander Andrew Heath, who said police believed these incidents were related, said about 1.15am today five youths allegedly broke into a home in Leanyer Dr, Leanyer where they stole multiple items including the keys to a white Hyundai Accent Hatchback.
The youths left the home by stealing and driving away the car. The homeowner woke and called police.

About 2.45am police attended a report of alarm activation at Humpty Doo Tavern.
“They attended and notice that the front door been smashed with a rock and a quantity of alcohol and a large knife was stolen,” he said.
“CCTV there shows five or six persons entering the tavern.”
About 4.30am police received a report of a group of youths allegedly smashing the doors of a hairdresser at Anula, with a white Hyundai Hatchback seen leaving the area.
“Half an hour later police received a report of glass doors being broken at the Diamond Village on Sabine Rd,” he said.
“A witness interrupted the group and they left the area.”
Shortly after a police CCTV operator found the Hyundai at the Coles Express on Dripstone Rd.

“A youth was seen trying to smash the front glass door with a rock. The youth has gotten into the vehicle and has left the area,” he said.
About 5.30am at the Puma Petrol Station in Jingili, three youths allegedly tried to get into the store.
“The attendants chased them and close the doors,” he said.
“One youth is alleged to have pulled out a big knife and the youths later left area in a car.
“The Hyundai has been involved what we believe in all of these offences.”
Witnesses are urged to contact police on 131 444, and to report any sightings of the 2018 white Hyundai Accent Hatchback with registration number CD47D.
