THIRTY new public housing units being built in The Narrows nearby the notorious Shiers Street complex are due to be completed in May.
A Department of Housing spokeswoman said the 30 new dwellings were being constructed at 335 Stuart Hwy under the government's social housing head leasing initiative.

“The Department is also working with broader government agencies to identify sites for future redevelopment to deliver replacement social housing,” she said.
“This approach includes facilitating private sector investment and growth of the community housing sector as a key deliverer of social housing.”
