A CREW member from the Diamantina cattle export ship, who initially tested a low positive for COVID-19, has now been diagnosed with the virus.
On December 30 two crew members aged 35 and 36, who were isolating on the Diamantina, were transported to Royal Darwin Hospital after the 35-year-old tested positive for COVID-19.
The 36-year-old required further testing after he returned a low positive for the virus.

He has now been counted towards the Northern Territory’s total number of recorded cases after returning a strong positive.
He will remain in isolation and under managed safe care at RDH until he returns two negative tests.
Three of the 28 crew are at RDH, with the remaining 25 split between the vessel and Howard Springs.
A Department of the Chief Minister release said the Northern Territory’s COVID-19 statistics have been adjusted following a testing review of historical cases.
Two cases have been de-notified as further testing revealed that the initial tests were falsely positive.

This takes the total number of cases diagnosed in the Northern Territory to 82.
All cases have been related to international or interstate travel, with no cases of community transmission.
