POLICE were called to an alleged feud between two families who were armed with weapons, including machetes.

Southern Watch Commander Adrian Kidney said police were called to the incident at a town camp in Alice Springs.

“It took all units resources to separate the groups. A short time later they regrouped at a block of units in the suburbs and continued,” he said.

“Fortunately nobody was injured during the fighting.

“It appears to be an ongoing feud between two families who are known to police. Inquiries are continuing in relation to weapon offences and going armed in public.”
