A MAN accused of being part of an alleged hit-and-run in Alice Springs which killed Shane Powell, has fronted court.

Jacob Long faced Alice Springs Local Court on Thursday charged with recklessly endangering life, unlawfully using a motor vehicle which caused injury to a person, fail to rescue and provide help and fail to obey direction of a police officer.

The court heard the Crown was waiting for additional material and the matter was adjourned until next week, when Long’s co-offender Mick Edrick is also set to appear.

On October 16 last year four people aged 13 to 19 were charged after the allegedly stolen vehicle they were travelling in allegedly ran a red traffic light at the Larapinta intersection colliding with a man riding his motorbike.

The vehicle failed to stop at the scene, where 47-year-old Shane Powell suffered life- threatening injuries, which he later died from. Long was remanded in custody to appear via video-link on February 25.
