Works of art by Mervyn Rubuntja, Melanie Gunner and Alison Hittmann have already helped to transform public spaces throughout the town’s CBD as part of the latest Revitalise Alice – Street Art Project.
Largely self-taught, Ms Price has a distinctive bold style and uses it to capture the beauty of the Central Australian landscape.
She has lived in Alice Springs for almost 30 years and has travelled extensively throughout remote Australia developing her artistic skills to embrace watercolours, oils and a wide range of other mediums.
Ms Price said she was thrilled her painting was chosen. “This will be the largest my work has been displayed and I’m excited for everyone to see it,” she said.
Red Hot Arts general manager Jen Standish-White said Alice Springs was renowned for being a vibrant arts community and the Street Art Project was transforming the streetscapes seen by locals and visitors alike “from empty walls and windows into beautiful artworks that speak to the vastness of our central desert environment”.
The NT government has invested $120,000 in the Street Art Project being delivered by Red Hot Arts and will have up to 20 artworks applied to building facades and roller shutters across the Alice Springs CBD.
