ALICE Springs’ last music and entertainment store, Sanity, has closed its doors.
Yeperenye Shopping Centre management said the store had been experiencing years of declining sales and had decided not to sign another lease after receiving six months of free rent due to COVID-19.

“For several years, Sanity has been reluctant to sign long-term leases with landlords on a national scale,” Yeperenye Shopping Centre management said.
“Centre management has done everything in our power to retain Sanity in the centre.”
Sanity notified the centre of its intention to close on September 13, and closed one week later.
