SUPERCAR teams and transporters carrying cars have been held up for more than a day at the NT/QLD border as they await permission to cross.
A spokesman from Supercars has confirmed some Brisbane transporters bound for the Darwin Triple Crown were still waiting at the NT/QLD border on Wednesday morning after spending the night in the nearby town of Camooweal on Tuesday.

It comes after the NT declared Brisbane a COVID-19 hotspot on Friday, which means arrivals who have been in Brisbane within the last 14 days need to enter mandatory 14-day quarantine.
A charter flight from Brisbane which will carry the drivers and teams to Darwin has also been delayed for a second straight day on Tuesday.
A Supercars spokesman said they had rescheduled the flight for Wednesday.
A spokeswoman from NT Major Events said due to the delay of the transporters arriving the annual transporter convoy through the Darwin CBD, set to go ahead on Thursday, can no longer take place.

“We are now working to determine whether the Convoy can take place on 13 August instead,” she said.
“We will provide more details as soon as possible.”
