Woman falls to her death from popular peak
A 35-year-old woman’s body was located around 4pm on Sunday after she fell from the top of a popular lookout in North Queensland.
A woman has died after she fell from the top of a popular lookout in North Queensland.
The 35-year-old woman was at the peak of Castle Hill in Townsville when the tragedy unfolded on Sunday.
A spokesman for the Queensland Police told news.com.au they received a report just before 3pm that a woman had fallen from the panorama lookout.
Emergency responders were aided by the Polair Townsville helicopter and the Queensland Government Air in locating the woman’s body.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service said the woman’s body had been found at 4pm.

“Upon arrival, the woman was located deceased,” the police spokesperson said.
Police confirmed her death was self-harm related.
Castle Hill is a popular lookout known for its giant pink granite monolith in the centre of Townsville It offers 360-degree views of the city with more than 2500 locals and tourists visiting the landmark and using its walking trails each day.
