Two British Airways cabin crew have been suspended for mocking the weight of a flight attendant.
The pair’s alleged target was shown the hurtful comments - posted in a staff WhatsApp group to which she did not belong - by a concerned colleague.
The devastated flight attendant, who is in her early 20s, was said to be scared to go to work after reading the jibes.
Her incensed colleague urged her to contact British Airways bosses, who then pulled the pair who allegedly mocked her from the rota.
They could be sacked if found guilty of misconduct.
Some flights went ahead with one fewer crew on board, with passengers having no idea why the service was stretched.
The behaviour of another five cabin crew in the same WhatsApp group is also under scrutiny, The Sun on Sunday understands.
A source said: “The poor victim of the merciless fat jokes has been left utterly bereft.
“She had no idea her colleagues had such disdain for her. The cruel comments left her scared to leave the house. She felt victimised. This was repugnant bullying.”
Cabin crew must be a certain height and weight so they can reach the overhead lockers and fit in seats.
