Miley Cyrus left ’traumatised’ after plane makes emergency landing following lightning strike

Miley Cyrus has revealed how “traumatised” she was after a frightening incident on her flight to Paraguay.

Miley Cyrus says she was left “traumatised” following a terrifying mid-air incident in March when her plane was struck by lightning.

Cryus, 29, and her crew were on their way to Paraguay when the aircraft she was travelling in “was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lightning”.

“My crew, band, friends and family who were all travelling with me are safe after an emergency landing,” she posted to her social media at the time.

Alongside her caption, the singer posted a video of the terrifying weather as well as a photo of the damage to her plane caused by the strike.

Appearing on The Late Show With Seth Meyers earlier this week, the 29-year-old admitted she was in tears during the turbulent flight and said the incident left everyone on the plane “traumatised”.

“It was really scary,” Cyrus told Meyers.

“I was in my mum’s lap because I was pretty sure it didn’t matter about the seat belts at this point … I was crying and I was scared.”

As a result of the incident, Cyrus was forced to cancel her show in Paraguay despite her bandmates wanting to push on.

“OK, no, we’re in the middle of the forest on a broken down aeroplane,” Miley said she told them.

Miley Cyrus said she hugged her mum during the scary event.

She recounted the incident on The Late Show with Seth Myers.

“There’s floods where we’re supposed to be going, the stage is sinking … All of us were a little traumatised.”

At the time of her posting about the incident in March, her Instagram was flooded with well-wishes from friends and fans.

“Thank god you all are safe,” designer Jeremy Scott commented.

“I’m glad everyone is safe, don’t worry MC we understand, love you so much️,” a fan said.

“OMG that is terrifying. I’m so happy you guys are OK. Geez you really never know when something life-changing can happen,” another wrote.
