According to the Cairns Post, he was employed as an aquaculture technician and a volunteer math teacher for at-risk youth.

“Everybody loved him.”

Mr Stav had been climbing rocks at the popular waterfall when he plunged to his death.

Queensland Ambulance were called to the scene at 4pm on Sunday where paramedics performed CPR but could not revive him.

It’s the third death in less than two years at the popular multi-tiered waterfall.

Christian Laska, 17, fell to his death there in December last year, while a 19-year-old Cairns woman died in May 2022.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.
