Incredible update on cop after 10m cliff fall

A heartwarming video has shown Australian police officer Ella Cutler walking out of hospital after a horrific 10 metre fall down a cliff while holidaying in Europe three months ago.

The 26-year-old used crutches and wore a back and leg brace as she was filmed walking out the doors of the State Rehabilitation Service at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth.

“Thank you so much for bringing me home. Your kindness is overwhelming,” she said in the clip released by WA Police on Wednesday.

More than $500,000 was raised to help bring Ms Cutler home to Perth in an air ambulance after she suffered critical injuries in Dubrovnik, Croatia on August 26.

She suffered multiple fractures to her skull, spine, several limbs, 12 broken ribs and punctures to both lungs.

While Ms Cutler did have travel insurance, Dubrovnik police ruled that she had been drinking when she fell, which meant she wasn’t covered.

She touched down on home soil almost a month after the catastrophic fall on September 22 and was immediately taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

Ms Cutler and her family met with WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch on Tuesday and “expressed their appreciation for the support shown by WA Police and the community of Western Australia”.

“Ella is very humbled by the outpouring of love and support she has received,” WA Police wrote in a social media post.

Ms Cutler said she wanted to get back to work.

“I don’t feel myself but I’m OK with where I’m going,” she told 9 News. “Hopefully I get better than where I am now.”

The GoFundMe page created by her brother Josh was the biggest WA-based fundraiser in the website’s history.
