Footage of the incident has since gone viral on social media, showing a female flight attendant yelling at a female passenger.

“You will behave or we will get off!” the fight attendant can be heard saying in footage captured by another passenger.

“I’ll tell the captain right away. Yes or no?”

When a passenger asks the flight attendant to call the captain, she refuses and says: “I don’t want no bullying against my crew”.

Footage then showed her storming up the aisle before turning around and shouting, “Everyone behave! Be quiet … or you’re getting off.”

United Airlines 2477 was bound for Boston from Houston on Sunday morning local time when a situation so severe unfolded it had land in Washington instead.

The airline told news.com.au the plane needed to undergo “a deep clean” after a passenger “experienced a medical issue”.

“I talked to the crew and it sounds like it’s quite bad back there,” a pilot on board said to air traffic control in audio shared on X.

“The crew is vomiting, and passengers all around are asking for masks etc … with this being a biohazard I think we need to get this plane on the ground asap.”

According to the New York Post, the airline confirmed none of the 155 passengers or its six crew members required medical help.
